VALVE 란

전자 부품에서 Valve(밸브)는 진공관(Vacuum tube)이라고도 불리며, 전기 신호를 증폭하거나 제어하는 등의 기능을 수행하는 전자소자입니다.

Valve는 20세기 초반까지 주로 사용되었으며, 현재는 특정 분야에서만 사용되고 있습니다.

Valve는 기본적으로 유전체로 둘러싸인 케이스 내부에 두 개 이상의 전극(Anode, Cathode, Grid 등)을 가지고 있으며, 전극 사이에 진공 상태를 유지합니다.

전극에 전압이 가해지면 전자가 움직이면서 전류를 흐르게 하며, 전류는 전극 사이의 공간을 통과하여 출력 전극으로 전달됩니다.

Valve는 초기 전자 기술 발전에 매우 중요한 역할을 하였으며, 라디오와 텔레비전 등의 통신 분야에서 널리 사용되었습니다.

현재는 대부분의 음향 및 통신 분야에서는 트랜지스터(Transistor)나 집적회로(IC) 등의 전자소자로 대체되었지만, 일부 고주파 및 전력분야에서는 아직도 사용되고 있습니다.
